PREVIEWTHE HEADLINER What could I possibly tell you to get you more excited about Braun Strowman? The former professional strongman turned Monster Among Men delighted many by destroying Roman Reigns, all while impressing everyone by convincingly delivering over-the-top spots like ambulance flips and ring collapses. En route to leaving the squared circle, Big Show and referee John Cone laying last Monday, he cut a path of destruction through the locker room which left veterans and cruiserweights in his wake. At least one of his victims isn’t going to just take it. Braun put Kalisto in a dumpster a week ago, so the former United States champion wants a chance to return the favor tonight. Strowman’s boss Kurt Angle agreed, and my boss Geno Mrosko is so excited he’s already written about it - twice. Of course, the question isn’t whether the Lucha Dragon can win, or even survive. It’s whether one or both of his bigger rivals - Show or Reigns - will appear to save Kalisto. Roman my still be out due to kayfabe damage from the stretcher attack of April 10 (or the real life pain of losing a brother), but they do have a date on pay-per-view (PPV) this Sunday in San Jose... THE TITLE SCENE ► Universal champion Brock Lesnar isn't advertised for Columbus - or anything much from now until mid-May. So get used to that. The battle raging between Reigns and Strowman should produce Lesnar’s next challenger, so that’s another reason to see if The Big Dog shows up to build toward his showdown with the Monster Among Men at Payback. ► Kevin Owens has already debuted on SmackDown, but it’s really the United States title the blue brand acquired. If Chris Jericho beats his former best fried at Payback on April 30, he’ll go work for Daniel Bryan & Shane McMahon. But we all know there’s not much chance of that happening, as Fozzy calls for the Rock ‘n’ Rolla, so we can look forward to KO’s next feud after that... but more on that in tomorrow’s preview. Y2J may have an issue with a certain un-signed (as far as we know) shambling strummer to settle in the meantime, anyway. ► Dean Ambrose doesn’t have an Intercontinental title defense booked for this weekend, and on a card with two blue brand belts featured prominently, they may save it for later. But the Lunatic Fringe definitely has beef with his old rival The Miz after the A-Lister’s latest incendiary promo duel with Dean a week ago. ► Alexa Bliss just joined Team Red, but her face already graces WWE.com’s Raw banner. And Bayley’s Women's championship might be gracing her waist by Sunday night. The Hugster just learned Five Feet of Fury would be her next challenger on April 17 - has she had time to prepare for Bliss’ legendary mind games? Cause you know Alexa will be looking to drag the Hugster a bit before their showdown in the champ’s hometown of San Jose. ► After an honorable challenge between Jeff Hardy & Cesaro, the two teams who’ll face off for tag team gold in San Jose got along pretty well again last week. Will we see sparks fly between the Swiss Superman & his partner Sheamus and the Boyz? More importantly, will we see any signs of breakage from Matt after another weekend of inner-vessel turmoil on the indie circuit? ► After a two-on-one assault ended last Tuesday’s 205 Live, Austin Aries definitely knows he’s outnumbered in his quest for Neville’s Cruiserweight championship. Will The Greatest Man That’s Ever Lived find any allies in his battle against the King and his advocate, TJ Perkins? OTHER STUFF TO KEEP AN EYE ON: ► Doesn’t look like Bray Wyatt will be bringing the World title to Mondays, because it doesn’t seem to be on the line in his House of Horrors match against SmackDown’s top champion Randy Orton. Does that mean The Eater of Worlds is more likely to start his first Raw feud on a winning streak? ► Their feud started as something that was best for Samoa Joe’s business. But now that his benefactor’s wife was put through a table at WrestleMania, his issues with Seth Rollins have become personal. Will this feud wait until Sunday? ► Emma’s back, and she seems to be feuding with old protégé Dana Brook... but only in tense backstage segments. ► Titus O’Neil has big plans for Apollo Crews’ brand, but the recently acquired NXT and SmackDown alum doesn’t seem to interested in opening a chain of liquor stores called “Apollo’s Booze”. This being wrestling, this will probably undoubtedly lead to violence.
