- Daniel Bryan began SmackDown talking about never having a match stop because of an injury. Bryan continues to talk about people thinking he is the weak link. Bryan said Randy Orton should have kept the fight going and continue the match, not treat him like a dog and tap on his head. Bryan said he wants to prove he's not the weak link by facing Orton tonight. Orton comes out and says he was trying to help Bryan, but Bryan says he felt like he was being patronized. This sets up the main event of Orton vs. Bryan.

- Curtis Axel vs. Wade Barrett and Alberto Del Rio vs. Chris Jericho is announced for tonight.

1. Sheamus defeated Cody Rhodes (w/Damien Sandow) with the Cloverleaf in 5:36. After the match, Sandow came in and beat down Sheamus.

– Another promo of The Wyatt Family was shown.

2. WWE Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel (w/Paul Heyman) defeated Wade Barrett to retain in 4:40. Barrett was in control on the outside, then Axel got on the offensive in the ring. Barrett missed his Bullhamer elbow and Axel capitalized for the win. The Miz was on commentary.

3. WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee (w/Big E Langston) defeated Natalya with her submission move from Payback in 2:42. Natalya and AJ argued before the match about AJ not having respect. AJ Lee won in quick fashion by locking in her move and forcing Natalya to tap.

- Backstage, Aksana teasing Kaitlyn about AJ's win and made fun of her. Kaitlyn attacks her and goes crazy until Layla breaks it up.

4. World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio defeated Chris Jericho via disqualification in 10:29. Jericho was in full control early on, but Del Rio hit him hard with some kicks to the chest and legs. Jericho made a comeback late in the match with a lionsault for a two count. Del Rio and Jericho reversed each other's submission moves until Ricardo interfered. This prompted Dolph Ziggler to come out. Alberto Del Rio escaped and Jericho hit Ziggler with the Codebreaker. Del Rio comes back to kick Ziggler and pose over him.

5. Christian defeated Drew McIntyre. He hit the Killswitch for the victory in 2:55. After the match, he cuts a promo about being back in front of his peeps. The Shield interrupted Christian and hit a Triple Powerbomb.

- WWE recapped the Brock-Punk developments from Raw. Renee Young interviewed Paul Heyman in the back regarding Brock Lesnar’s attack on CM Punk, however Heyman avoided the questions and asked Renee some questions himself. Heyman then said that CM Punk made it clear that he isn’t his client, but they are friends and put over Curtis Axel for retaining his WWE Intercontinental Championship earlier in the evening.

6. Daniel Bryan defeated Randy Orton via count-out in 14:11. Bryan tried to get the No Lock on early, but Orton comeback and took control. Both men exchanged back and forth blows. Kicks from Bryan and punches from Orton kept the pace moving along. There was a really good flurry of offense by both. Orton came back with a superplex, but Bryan ducked the RKO. On the outside, Bryan hit a big knee. Bryan hit a suicide dive on Orton and got back in the ring. This counted out Orton.

- After the match, Daniel Bryan demands that the match be restarted. He said he didn't want it to end that way. The ref refuses to restart the match. This concludes the tapings.

* Post-Show Dark match

Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton & Sheamus def. Dean Ambrose (United States Champion), Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins (WWE Tag Team Champions) via dq in 2:50.

Cesaro dovevano iniziare a pusharlo prima, adesso sarebbe assurda una valigetta a lui.

Barrett è il favorito, è l'ora.

peccato che Sandow farà la carriera di un funaki in WWE... ma neanche.

Smackdown SPOILERS 7/5

- C.M. Punk opened Smackdown dressed in wrestler gear for his "special appearance." Punk watched a replay of Curtis Axel stealing their tag victory on Raw. Punk opened with a dig on John Cena, talked about the Fourth of July, talked about how independent he is, tied it into how he's going to win the WWE Title MITB match, talked about Brock Lesnar, and Alberto Del Rio interrupted.

Del Rio claimed this is his show, so Punk told him off. Del Rio then went off on Americans to "USA" chants. Punk called out Del Rio on his babyface "Born in Mexico, Made in America" gimmick, calling him phony. Del Rio told Punk to get out, but Punk refused. So, Teddy Long booked Del Rio vs. Punk as the main event.

- Backstage, Punk was with Paul Heyman. Heyman questioned whether Punk can out-wrestle Del Rio, which Punk said he's going to do. Heyman tried to talk Punk into letting him be ringside with Punk at Money in the Bank, but Punk said no.

- Rhodes Scholars came out to the ring to face The Usos. A lot of heat on Sandow for his pre-match promo, including his catchphrase of "Slackjaw mouth-breathers." Catchy, ain't it?

(1) The Usos beat Rhodes Scholars (Damien Sandow & Cody Rhodes) in about 5:00. Cody controlled early, then a quick tag to Sandow. The Usos then got the double-team going, superkicked Cody on the apron, and hit a double top-rope splash on Sandow for the win.

Post-match, The Shield appeared on the big screen. Shield cut a promo on being dominant.

- Divas action was up next. First, a recap of what A.J. Lee did to Kaitlyn on Raw with the photoshopped picture.

(2) Alicia Fox beat Kaitlyn (w/Layla) in 3:00. Kaitlyn dominated, with little offense for Fox. Then, A.J. interrupted skipping around the ring. Fox capitalized with a roll-up for three.

- Backstage skit: A.J. ran away from Kaitlyn, but the Bellas stopped Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn then talked with Langston, who laughed at her.

- Recap of the latest Daniel Bryan/Kane/Randy Orton drama.

- Backstage, Christian and Orton talked with Renee Young about their gameplans against each other.

- Wyatt Family promo.

- Time for Orton vs. Christian. Huge pop for Orton, but Christian lost his pop after wrestling on Main Event. Time for another Face vs. Face match-up flashing back to 2011 Smackdown.

(3) Randy Orton beat Christian in 15:00. Orton dominated early. Christian took it to Orton on the outside, then hit the Spear for a two count back in the ring. Christian tried the Killswitch, but Orton countered with "vintage" offense. For the finish, Christian pushed off the RKO, then went to the top and jumped over Orton, who responded with the RKO for the win. The crowd exploded for the RKO.

- Backstage, Paul Heyman and Teddy Long talked. Long wanted Heyman at the commentary table for the Punk-Del Rio main event, and Long said he would not take "no" for an answer.

- Dolph Ziggler (finally) cut a promo about Del Rio and losing the World Title before facing Drew McIntyre.

(4) Dolph Ziggler beat Drew McIntyre in 4:00. Ziggler dominated early, then Drew over-powered Ziggler and got in some offense. Ziggler then hit the Zig-Zag for the win.

After the match, 3MB tried to attack Ziggler, but he escaped and teased 3MB. They tried to get him again, but Ziggler escaped again.

- Mark Henry video promo to hype Henry challenging John Cena for the WWE Title at the MITB PPV.

- Backstage, Fandango and Summer Rae are standing by. And, the Fandango gimmick comes down from the ceiling.

(5) Fandango beat Justin Gabriel in 2:00. Back-and-forth with some high-flying. Gabriel went for a Suicide Dive, but got hit in the head. Fandango then hit a Macho Man Elbow for the pin.

- Colter, Antonio Cesaro, and Jack Swagger cut a promo about the Fourth of July.

- Main event time - Heyman is on commentary. Del Rio vs. Punk is non-title.

(5) World Hvt. champion Alberto Del Rio vs. C.M. Punk went to a No Contest via double count-out in 18:00. Del Rio attacked Punk's shoulder throughout, looking to soften up Punk for the cross arm-breaker. Punk had a small comeback broken up by a backbreaker. Punk rolled out of the ring, then got thrown into the barricade and over the announce table. Del Rio then attacked Heyman at commentary. Punk then used the commentary table to launch himself onto Del Rio and into the barricade, resulting in the bell sounding. Lilian Garcia announced a double count-out for a No Contest.

After the announcement, Punk threw Del Rio back into the ring and hit the GTS. Apparently this was the end of Smackdown.

After the dust settled, Del Rio got up and cut a heel promo about how he is the champion. Ziggler then came out and cleared him from the ring. Ziggler celebrated, then went ringside to high-five the fans.

That completed the Smackdown TV taping tonight.

secondo me non può non vincere Ambrose, grazie al run in dello Shield a far piazza pulita...
in modo da diventare i top heel di smackdown e lasciare la Wyatt family come stable a raw, senza pestarsi i piedi

The building is packed. It's not sold out, but like 7/8 full.

The show opened with Teddy Long in the ring. He announced that Vince McMahon was in the building to give him a job evaluation. He asked if the crowd thought he should be the permanent GM. The crowd responded positively. He said this would be the best Smackdown ever.

Booker T's music hit and he made his return. Booker T thanked Teddy but said he would be resuming the general manager duties. Enter Vince McMahon, who said there can be only one. He asked what they have to offer. Teddy announced Curtis Axel vs. Chris Jericho for the Intercontinental Title. Booker announced Alberto Del Rio vs. Randy Orton.

Enter Brad Maddox, who said he already thought of those matches, and announced the Smackdown return of Rob Van Dam. Big pop. Vince teased all three and announced that the new Smackdown general manager is Vickie Guerrero. Big heat and "No!" chants followed. Vickie cut a promo about how she's back and she hates all of us. Nuclear heat.

1. Dolph Ziggler beat Jack Swagger (w/Antonio Cesaro and Zeb Colter). Ziggler won after hitting the Zig-Zag in about four minutes. Cesaro and Zeb were sent backstage after Cesaro pulled Ziggler off the apron into his uppercut. Post match, Ziggler cut a quick promo about dumping AJ. He said he should've done it sooner.

AJ was watching backstage with Big E and went nuts. She beat up a chair and even attacked Big E. Eventually, he hugged her and they had a moment. They were about to kiss when Langston pulled away and kissed her on the forehead.

There was a non-televised entrance for The Shield. The Uso's microphones didn't work for their entrance. It was really staticky. Is that a word? it is now.

2. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns vs. The Usos never started because Dean Ambrose ran in. Mark Henry made the save to a huge pop. Babyface turn. The Shield retreated back up the stands and the babyfaces held the ring.

3. Daniel Bryan beat Wade Barrett via LeBell Lock in about 5:00. Unbelievable reaction for Bryan. Huge pop, arena-wide "Yes!" and "Daniel Bryan" chants. No need for audio sweetener with this great crowd tonight.

Miz TV with Paul Heyman. Epic non-response for Miz's entrance. Great heat on Paul. Paul put over Brock Lesnar and offered Punk a piece of advise: "Stay down." Paul threatened that if Punk ever showed his face again, he would be be victimized by Brock Lesnar. More brilliance from Heyman. Miz was lame, then he left.

On his way up the ramp, Heyman interrupted Miz leaving and brought out Curtis Axel. He and Miz exchanged looks but passed each other on the stage.

4. Curtis Axel (w/ Paul Heyman) pinned Chris Jericho in about 10 minutes to retain the Intercontinental Title. Decent back and forth match that Axel won with his hangman's facebuster. The crowd went bonkers for Jericho's offense (the pop on The Walls being applied won't be sweetened. Unreal). There seemed to be no connection between Axel and the crowd. Post-match, Ryback came to the ring and hit Jericho with the Meat Hook and Shellshocked.

Damien Sandow came to the ring. He said he didn't screw Cody, so he couldn't understand why Cody attacked him Monday. However, he wasn't going to spew angry rhetoric at Cody, because that's what makes him different from us. He said he and Cody were still best friends, and he invited Cody to join him in the ring.

Cody entered and Sandow said he forgave Cody. He offered Cody a "metaphorical olive branch" in the form of the offer to be the "guardian of the case. Cody, you earned this." Sandow said. Cody attacked Sandow, but Sandow quickly escaped and ran to the back. Unimpressive reactions for Cody.

5. Rob Van Dam beat Darren Young (w/Titus O'Neil). RVD won with the Five Star Frog Splash in about five minutes. A showcase match for RVD, who used all of his standard spots.

Backstage, Vickie Guerrero had security remove Teddy Long from the building.

A brief graphic hyped that Big Show would be making his return to Raw this Monday.

6. Randy Orton pinned Alberto Del Rio in a non-title match. Orton went over clean after an RKO in about 10 minutes. What you'd expect from these two. I still don't like how frequently champions lose non-title matches. This was the end of Smackdown.

Dark Main Event

1. Daniel Bryan, Rob Van Dam, and Randy Orton beat The Shield in a six-man tag. The babyface trio went over in about seven minutes when Rollins tapped out to the LeBell Lock.
